This Saturday, the Spring Equinox, I made my first Vision Board. Sometimes words are not enough!
Materials needed: a manila file folder, a glue stick, a pair of scissors, old magazines, good music.
Process:
Cut and paste a collage of images, words and phrases on to the manila file folder. Pick words and images you are drawn to for whatever reason. Arrange them in any manner that feels right to you.
One can focus a vision board on a particular work/life theme (like love, or work or creativity), or just make a free-form board. I chose free-form ~ cutting anything that caught me eye or tugged at my mind.
My board ended up with more words than images, and I'm thinking next time, I will try to use more images, just to see what comes up.
I haven't looked much at my board since making it, but it helped me clarify and affirm some of my goals, dreams and desires. Which is a good thing ;)
Have you ever made a vision board? What was your process? Was it helpful? Fun?
